John is a Senior Financial Advisor, Founder, and President of Ironwood Wealth Management.
He advises many of the area’s retirees, families, businesses and nonprofit organizations on ways to effectively manage their financial resources. He has several areas of expertise including investment portfolio design and management and retirement planning. He conducts educational seminars regularly, has authored financial articles and appeared in local and national media.
John is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association. He has also earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ (CRPC®) designation from the National Endowment for Financial Education. John was also awarded the Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ (AAMS®) professional designation following coursework and examination from the College of Financial Planning located in Denver, Colorado. Additionally, John is among a small group of investment professionals who’ve earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation. He earned it through the Investment Management Consultants Association following coursework and examination at the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania. John has also earned two college degrees.
John started his career at a national investment firm in Charleston, West Virginia, where through hard work and determination he quickly rose to the position of Vice President-Investments.
Tyler serves as the firm’s Advisor Associate He is responsible for portfolio administration, trading, rebalancing and research projects as well as a variety of operational duties.
He joined our team after graduating from the University of Charleston where he attained a bachelor’s degree after attending with an academic scholarship. Since joining the firm, Tyler was awarded the Wealth Management Specialist℠ (WMS®) and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ (AAMS®) professional designations following coursework and examinations from the College of Financial Planning and had obtained his Series 65 license.
Megan serves as our Client Relationship Manager. She supports clients and advisors by assisting with account maintenance, preparing paperwork, and helping ensure a smooth client experience. Megan also coordinates client events, prepares client communications, maintains our marketing calendar, and schedules meetings.
Megan earned her bachelor's degree from Marshall University before joining our team. Since joining the firm, she has earned the Wealth Management Specialist℠ (WMS®) and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ (AAMS®) designations through the College for Financial Planning and has obtained her Series 65 license. Megan is also commissioned as a Notary Public for West Virginia.
Tami serves as part of the firm’s part-time volunteer client service staff and assists with the firm’s educational seminars and other events. Before marrying John, she served as Secretary Treasurer for Standard Food Service in Hurricane, WV.
